In as little as 48-square-feet of operating space, a Mr. Payroll franchise provides fast check cashing, money orders, bill paying, money transfers and other financial services in one convenient location—and at a minimal cost.

Mr. Payroll provides valuable non-bank financial services to hard-working Americans every day and is an industry leader in franchised check-cashing services.

Franchise History

Established in 1988 in Amarillo, Texas, Mr. Payroll offered low-cost, hassle-free check-cashing services to consumers who either didn’t have, or couldn’t get, a checking account. Thus, Mr. Payroll became an easy option for getting one’s earnings on payday, every payday. The following year, Mr. Payroll opened its first test model facility in a convenience store. The model worked, and Mr. Payroll began offering Mr. Payroll check-cashing franchises in the southwestern United States.

Today, Mr. Payroll has approximately 63 franchisees, over 120 locations and has expanded its services to include bill payments, money orders, money transfers, pre-paid debit cards* and more. 

Training and Support

In addition to a free monthly Cashier Training Academy, Mr. Payroll maintains a toll-free 800 line to assist and advise franchisees and cashiers with business issues, and a Technical Support Center to provide operational and technical assistance. Field managers are always available to offer assistance and make routine field visits. And, as a Mr. Payroll franchisee, you’ll have online access to current operations reports and three-year historical trend reports.
