Since 1984, ComputerExplorers has evolved a proprietary technology curriculum serving the education needs of elementary schools, after school centers and summer camps, preschools and childcare centers, and adult learners and staff professional development.
In 1984, personal computers were still considered a luxury, and schools were figuring out how to best use the new technology as a learning tool. Moms Karen Marshall and Mary Rogers saw the teaching potential of computers and began Computertots/Computer Explorers with $1,500, one computer and 10 young students.
No previous experience in the field of education is required
Two weeks of classroom/lab training includes marketing, business planning and administrative systems. New franchisees receive start-up materials (software, peripherals, etc) and operations manuals. Training and support continues on-site shortly after classroom training and is renewed and updated through direct telephone contact, webinars, seminars and conferences.
